Daniel Clymer (Orgon)
Daniel Clymer was born on a farm in Peru Indiana where there were vast fields of corn and wheat to work on and could transform into jungles and haunted mansions to explore. His desire to act came at an early age when television, movies and theatre became his way to connect with the world and the joy they gave him became to intense to hold within as an audience he knew he had to be inside the process in addition to being an enthusiastic audience. He studied theatre at The University Of Evansville then left for New York City to try to pursue an acting career on the way he acted in several off and off broadway theatre originating several roles. He studied with Sandy Dennis, Geraldine Page, Uta Hagen and Bill Alton before moving back to Indiana to care for his parents. While here he has gone all over the state to be in some dream plays from once yearly in n,y.C. To 5 or 6 a year here. Tartuffe marks his third presentation with 4th Wall players; Withering Heights, The Importance Of Being Earnest. He knows of no other company here which offer such challenging plays which are not seen offered everywhere by such nice and hardworking people.

Director’s Note
Hello and welcome! Although only in the second year of our summer classic (non-Shakespeare division) here in Indy, I am thrilled at how receptive theatre-goers have been to check us out. Theatre has been a gigantic part of my life for over twenty years and one of 4th Wall’s goals is to perform interesting stories that aren’t widely done in the community/public theatre arena. I chose to direct Tartuffe, because I was interested in the idea of a man being so enchanted with a charismatic stranger that he had abandoned all sense of reason. Tartuffe, as a character, brings to mind many modern day figures that we could all point to. I wanted to focus on how that phenomenon can and does rip otherwise happy families apart, and my cast has done a fantastic job of picking up that idea and running with it. Ultimately, the characters are what drive this show; and I was fortunate enough to inherit an incredible and dynamic group. Of course, behind the scenes is just as important. I want to express my gratitude for all of my crew, without whom we wouldn’t have lights, sounds, costumes, or even an organized green room! Most of all, thank you to my sister, Kelli. Though she has been a valuable part of 4th Wall for over a decade, this is her assistant directorial debut. I hope you admire and appreciate the cast and crew every bit as much as I do. And I hope to speak with as many of you as possible after the final bows have finished. As I’m sure my actors would, too. So please, enjoy the show!
